H.G. Sankarshan das Adhikari, USA: Saturday 27 August 2011--Solution to All of the World's Problems--Is Lord Buddha Krishna's Incarnation?

We request you to participate in this mission by reviving your dormant Krishna consciousness and assisting us in spreading this science all over the world. Therefore we have the most awesome responsibility to educate the entire world population in the science of Krishna consciousness. Somehow or other we must awaken them to knowing who they actually are as pure spirit-souls and being who they actually are as Krishna's eternal servants. We have only two duties: to become fully awakened ourselves in Krishna consciousness and to awaken all others to to most sublime, happy state of pure Krishna consciousness. To successfully carry out these two duties we can accept any means. We have no interest in wasting our time in other so called duties. Sankarshan Das Adhikari Answers by Citing the Vedic Version: Question: Is Lord Buddha Krishna's Incarnation? Dear Gurudeva, Is Lord Buddha an incarnation of Lord Krishna? I read that Lord Buddha is an incarnation of Lord Krishna. But this is difficult to believe because Buddhists do not believe in deity worship. They think the universe has come out from nothing. Pradnya Answer: Yes Yes, according to the Srimad Bhagavatam, Lord Buddha is an incarnation of Krishna. Even though he is God Himself he taught atheism and denied the authority of the Vedas because at that time the Indian population was twisting the Vedic injunctions to justify wide scale cow slaughter. To stop them from their heinous sinful activities he denied the Vedas and taught the principles of karma and non-violence. Thus as part of a divine plan he paved the way for future teachers who would bring back the Vedic culture in its original pure form. Srila Prabhupada has written as follows regarding Lord Buddha in his purport to Srimad Bhagavatam, 1st Canto, Chapter 3, Text 24: He deluded the atheists because such atheists who followed his principles did not believe in God, but they kept their absolute faith in Lord Buddha, who himself was the incarnation of God. Thus the faithless people were made to believe in God in the form of Lord Buddha. That was the mercy of Lord Buddha: he made the faithless faithful to him. Japa Group: Immersed In The Nectar

Hare Krsna everyone. I hope you are having a nice week of chanting.
I would like to share with you a very beautiful prayer from Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakur in his song Kabe Habe Bolo, here follows 2 verses.

2) When will I taste the essence of the Holy Name, feeling myself to be lower than the grass, my heart filled with tolerance? When will I give respect to all others and be free from desire for respect from them?

7) When will I buy, borrow or steal the ecstasies of the Holy Name? When will I lose myself in the intoxication of the Holy Name? When will I immerse myself in the nectar of the Holy Name after grasping the feet of a saint who constantly relishes the flavours [rasa] of devotion?
This mood of devotion is always essential to our good japa and for concentration - maybe you can recite one of these prayers before your chanting, it should help you come to the mood of service.

Hoping this week is full of realisations on japa.

your servant,

Aruna devi

Bharatavarsa.net: Bhakti Vikasa Swami: always feel yourself very much blessed by Krishna

You are feeling some discomfort in your life in Krishna Consciousness, but I can assure you that this is only temporary condition of little importance, because main thing is that somehow or other you have got a little attraction for Krishna and you have become His devotee and this is the highest platform of development of life. So you should always feel yourself very much blessed by Krishna that you have come to this point after so much long struggling, so if there is from time to time little discomfort, do not pay it any attention. Now you have got the formula how to achieve very quickly the supreme perfectional stage, and it is up to you if you will practice it seriously or not. If you chant daily 16 rounds and read at least one hour daily Srimad-Bhagavatam, plus your other prescribed duties, never mind this or that, you will feel yourself becoming happy more and more and these practices will protect you from maya or hazy consciousness without any doubt. Of course, it is very much favorable to our advancement in spiritual life if we are engaged in some service for Krishna which is also pleasing to us to perform.

Bharatavarsa.net: Book distribution seminar: Prabhupada nectar

Prabhupad was travelling to South America with his two servants, the temple where they'd been gave them a packed lunch for the plane, so in the air Srutakirti Prabhupad's servant opened Prabhupad's lunch pack and served him his prasadam of puffed rice and peanuts. Prabhupad had his fill and handed over the remnants to Srutakirti who'd just began eating when the lady air hostess comes over and in one motion says that looks tasty and grabs a handful throws it in her mouth. Prabhupad smiled, Srutakirti was somewhat shocked. She then asked why bring your own food. Srutakirti informed her that they are vegetarians etc etc. She immediately said is there anything else I can get you, fruit milk? Prabhupad said "Hot milk". Five minutes later she returned with three cups of hot milk she got from First class. Prabhupad thanked her and the devotees discussed among themselves Prabhupad remarking that it is a natural nature of a pious woman to serve....... Anyway over the years this had become one of Srutakirti's favourite Prabhupad pastime stories to tell.

Anyway now part two, he was recently again in South America doing a preaching tour enlivening devotees there (and selling his book "What is the difficulty?") and he told that story in Brazil. Afterward one devotee came up to him and asked would Srutakirti prabhu like to hear an amazing story? This devotee was out in some remote village going door to door selling books when he knocked on a door a lady opened the door wearing tilak. She then invited the devotee in and her house was like a little temple,an altar with Deities, pictures on the walls and all of Prabhupad's books in Portuguese in her bookshelf. The devotee just had to ask her how she became a devotee....... She said she used to be an airline hostess some years ago and she met the author of these books, he was so saintly and gentle and kind that she looked up who he was and what he did from his boarding pass name. She then got some of his books and began to read, they said to chant so she chanted and offer her food to Krishna, so she did all that and became a devotee from that small contact.... Srutakirti was amazed, while at the same time understood the potency of Prasadam and even a moments association with a pure devotee like Srila Prabhupad. Now that has become one of Srutakirti's favourite stories to tell also.
