The deity of Anantasāyi Vishnu at Sesasāyi





This pastime place lies one-and-a-half miles south and somewhat east of Bāsoli. Ksirasāgara is here as a Kunda. In a temple on the west bank of Ksirasāgara is a deity of Bhagavān Ananta reclining on His bed with Laksmi massaging His lotus feet (sayana-lilā). 

One time, when the playful Kṛṣṇa was sporting here with Śrī Rādhikā and the sakhis, the storyabout Śrī Anantasāyi Vishnu somehow came up in their conversation. A strong desire to see the sayana-lilā of Anantasāyi Vishñu arose in Śrī Rādhikā’s heart, so Kṛṣṇa himself arranged for her to see this pastime. Immersed in the mood of Anantasāyi, Śrī Kṛṣṇa laid down on a thousand-petalled lotus in the middle of Ksirasāgara, and Śrī Rādhikā, in the mood of Laksmi, massaged his lotus feet. All the assembled gopis were astonished. 

Śrīla Raghunātha dāsa Gosvāmi alludes to this pastime in his Vraja- vilāsa-stava (verse 91):

“Even though Śrī Rādhikā has extremely soft limbs, when She brought Śrī Kṛṣṇa’s very soft and charming lotus feet near her chest, She could not bring herself to place them on it as She feared that the touch of her hard breasts might cause him pain. May I obtain residence in the enchanting Vraja of Sesasāyi Kṛṣṇa.” 

When Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu travelled throughout Vraja, He came to take darsana of this place, and in doing so became filled with divine love. There is a pleasant kadamba forest here, and one can also take darsana of Praudhanātha and a swing. Nearby is a sitting-place (baithaka) of Śrī Vallabhācārya.

Este lugar de pasatiempos se encuentra a una milla y media  al sur y algo al este de Bāsoli. Ksirasāgara está aquí como Kunda. En un templo en el oeste de Ksirasāgara hay una deidad de Bhagavān Ananta que descansa en su cama con Laksmi que le da masajes a sus pies de loto (sayana-lilā). 

Una vez, cuando el juguetón Kṛṣṇa se divertía aquí con Śrī Rādhikā y las sakhis, la historia de el Śrī Anantasāyi Vishnu salió de alguna manera en su conversación. Un fuerte deseo de considerar el sayana-lilā de Anantasāyi Vishñu se presentó en el corazón de Śrī Rādhikā, así que Kṛṣṇa mismo lo arregló para que ella pudiera ver este pasatiempo. In the area of Khelanvana (Sergarh) 




Khelanvana lies two miles south-east of Ūjāni. Śrī Kṛṣṇa and Śrī Balarāma played many kinds of games with the sakhās when they came here for cow herding. Śrī Rādhikā also played here with Her sakhis. This place is called Khelanvana because they used to play (khelnā) here.

Nanda Bābā resided here for some time with the gopis, gopas and cows. Vrishabhānu Bābā also stayed here with his whole family and herd of cows.

Jatilā and Kotilā thought themselves to be the only chaste women in Vraja, and they considered Rādhikā to be not even slightly chaste. They always spoke ill of Rādhikā and made propaganda against Her. Kṛṣṇa was aware of all this. 

One day, He pretended to be ill to the point of death. Yasodā ji called expert doctors and brāhmanas skilled in mantras, but no one was able to help. Finally, Yogamāyā Pūrnimā arrived on the scene. She said, “If any chaste lady brings water from the Yamunā in this earthen water-pot, which has hundreds of holes, and if I then bathe Kṛṣṇa with mantras and with that water, then Kanhaiyā can become healthy. Otherwise, it will be impossible to save Him.” Yasodā called Jatilā and Kutilā and requested them to bring water from the Yamunā in that special pot. They went separately to the Yamunā to fill the pot, but were unable to retain even a drop of water in it. They left the pot on the Yamunā’s shore and returned home by another path so as not to meet anyone.

Yogamāyā Pūrnimā then advised Yasodā-maiyā to request Śrī Rādhikā to bring water in that hundred-holed pot. Upon being repeatedly requested, Śrī Rādhikā finally agreed to go to the Yamunā. She successfully brought back water in that pot without spilling even one drop. Pūranmāsi sprinkled Kṛṣṇa with that water, and He immediately regained His health. All the Vrajavāsis were amazed to see this wonderful incident, and Rādhikā’s chastity was praised everywhere. Places of darsana here are Balarāma-Kunda, Gopi-ghat, Śrī Rādhā-Govinda, Śrī Rādhā-Gopinātha and Śrī Rādhā-Madanamohana.

Khelanvana se encuentra a dos millas al sureste de Ūjāni. Śrī Kṛṣṇa y Śrī Balarāma jugaron muchas clases de juegos con los sakhās cuando vinieron aquí para reunir las vacas. Śrī Rādhikā también jugó aquí con sus sakhis. Este lugar se llama Khelanvana porque jugaban (khelnā) aquí. 

Nanda Bābā residió aquí por algún tiempo con las gopis, los gopas y las vacas. Vrishabhānu Bābā también permaneció aquí con su familia entera y las manadas de vacas.

Yogamāyā Pūrnimā entonces aconsejó Yasodā-maiyā que pidiera a Śrī Rādhikā que trayera  el agua en ese recipiente que tenía cientos de agujeros. Después de varias veces de hacerle el pedido, Śrī Rādhikā finalmente acordó ir al Yamunā. Ella trajo con éxito sobre Su cabeza el agua en ese recipiente sin derramar incluso una sola gota. Püranmāsi asperjó a Kṛṣṇa con esa agua, y él recuperó inmediatamente su salud. Todo los Vrajavāsis quedaron sorprendidos al ver este incidente maravilloso, y la castidad de Rādhikā fue elogiada por todas partes. Los lugares del darsana aquí son Balarāma-Kunda, Gopi-ghat, Śrī Rādhā-Govinda, Śrī Rādhā-Gopinātha y Śrī Rādhā-Madanamohana.

Rama Ghat 




 This place lies on the bank of Yamunā, two miles east of Sergarh. Its present name is Obe. Baladeva performed Rāsa-lilā here.

Śrī Kṛṣṇa and Balarāma had been living in Dwārakā for a long time. The Vrajavāsis’ distress, caused by their separation from Them, was so great that Śrī Kṛṣṇa sent Śrī Baladeva to Vraja to console them. At that time, Nanda-Gokula, where they resided, was here. Baladeva spent the two months of Caitra and Vaisākha in Nanda-Vraja, and tried His utmost to console His parents, the sakhās and the gopis.

In the end, to alleviate the agony of the gopis’ separation, Baladeva performed rāsa here, complete with dancing and singing.

Rama Ghat 





Este lugar se encuentra en la ribera del Yamunā, a dos millas al este de Sergarh. Su nombre actual es Obe. Baladeva realizó Rāsa-lilā aquí. 

Śrī Kṛṣṇa y Balarāma habían estado viviendo en Dwārakā durante mucho tiempo. La señal de socorro del Vrajavāsis, causada por la separación de ellos, era tan grande que Śrī Kṛṣṇa envió a Śrī Baladeva a Vraja para consolarlos. En aquel momento, Nanda-Gokula, donde residieron, estaba aquí. Baladeva pasó los dos meses de Caitra y de Vaisākha en Nanda-Vraja, e intentó por todos los medios de consolar a sus padres, los sakhās y a las gopis.

A Necklace of Gunjā berries




Gunjāvana is the place where the gopis decorated Kṛṣṇa in a wonderful way with a necklace of gunjā berries, and where Kṛṣṇa decorated Śrī Rādhikā in the same way.

Gunjāvana es el lugar en donde las gopis adornaron a Kṛṣṇa de una manera maravillosa con un collar de las bayas del gunjā, y donde Kṛṣṇa adornó a Śrī Rādhikā de la misma manera.

Vihāra-Kund at Viharvana




Vihāravana lies one-and-a-half miles south-west of Rāma-Ghat. Darsana of the Bihāré ji temple and Vihāra-Kunda is recommended. Vraja-bihāri Kṛṣṇa together with Rādhikā and the gopis performed Rāsa and other kinds of amorous pastimes at this charming place near Śrī Yamunā. Although most of the forests of Vraja have been cut down, Vihāravana remains somewhat protected. 

Even today, cuckoos sing and thousands of peacocks make their ke-kā sound here, and during the rainy season they dance and drop their feathers. There are many beautiful kunjas, kadamba groves and many kinds of creepers here.

When one visits this place, sweet remembrances of Kṛṣṇa’s pastimes will manifest in one’s heart. In the cowshed here, the very beautiful cows, jumping calves and intoxicated looking bulls awaken sweet memories of Śrī Kṛṣṇa’s cow grazing pastimes.

Vihāra-Kund en Viharvana 





Vihāravana se encuentra a una milla y media al sudoeste de Rāma-Ghat. El darsana de Bihāré ji y del templo del Vihāra-Kunda se recomienda. Vraja-bihāri Kṛṣṇa junto con Rādhikā y el Rāsa realizado por las gopis y otras clases de pasatiempos amorosos en este encantador lugar  cerca de Śrī Yamunā. Aunque la mayor parte de los bosques de Vraja se hayan reducido, Vihāravana sigue algo protegido. 

Incluso hoy, los cucos cantan y los millares de pavos reales hacen su sonido KE-kā aquí, y durante la estación de las lluvias bailan y abren sus plumas. Hay muchos kunjas hermosos, arboledas del kadamba y muchas clases de enredaderas aquí. 

Cuando uno visita este lugar, le atraen los recuerdos de los dulces pasatiempos de Kṛṣṇa y se manifestán en su corazón. Akshayavata 




 
Akñshyavata is also called Bhāndiravaöa, and is situated two miles south of Rāma-ghta. Śrī Kṛṣṇa, Balarāma and the sakhās played many games in the shade of this banyan (vata) tree. They especially liked to wrestle here. Baladeva killed Pralambāsura at Akñayavata.

Once during cow herding, Śrī and Balarāma left the cows to graze in the lush, green fields and went off to play with the sakhās. They divided themselves into two groups, one headed by Kṛṣṇa and the other headed by Baladeva. The game they played had a rule that each boy in the group that lost had to carry the boy who had defeated him on his shoulders from Bhādhiravata to a fixed place some distance away and then back again.

Pralambāsura, a demon sent by Kamsa, assumed the form of a beautiful sakhā and joined Kṛṣṇa’s team. Kṛṣṇa knowingly encouraged the new sakhā to play and kept him on His team. Śrī Kṛṣṇa was defeated by Śrīdāma and Pralambāsura by Balarāma. According to the rules, Śrīdāma sat on Śrī Kṛṣṇa’s shoulders and Balarāma on Pralambāsura’s. Kṛṣṇa made His way towards the appointed place, but the wicked Pralambāsura ran instead to a place that was deep and isolated.

After some time he assumed his hideous rākshasa form. Kamsa had instructed him to kill Baladeva before killing Kṛṣṇa. At first, Baladeva Prabhu was uncertain about what to do but, upon receiving a clue from Kṛṣṇa, He split the head of the demon with one blow of His fist. Pralambāsura vomited blood and collapsed to the earth. When Kṛṣṇa and the sakhās arrived there, they embraced Balarāma and praised His strength and fortitude.

The following pastime also took place at Akshyavata. One day, 
Śrī Rādhikā, the sakhis and Śrī Kṛṣṇa were playing together here. The sakhis said to Kṛṣṇa, “Prāna-vallabha, You always boast that You have defeated even expert wrestlers. But why is it that Śrīdāma defeated You?”

Śrī Krieshna answered, “That is entirely untrue. No one in the whole universe can defeat Me. I have never been defeated by Śrīdāma.”

Rādhikā replied, “If that is so, then we gopis are ready to wrestle with You. If You defeat us, then we will understand that You are the topmost wrestler.” The gopis dressed themselves as wrestlers and Śrī Rādhikā wrestled with Kṛṣṇa, easily defeating Him. The sakhis clapped their hands and praised Her.

Since Śrī Kṛṣṇa and the sakhās wrestled and performed physical exercise here, the village near Akshyavata is called Kāsrata. The word kāsrata means kasrat karnā, or “to perform physical exercise”. It also means kusti karnā, or “to wrestle”. When the ancient banyan tree that stood here disappeared, a new one was planted in its place.

Note that the Bhāndiravata situated in Bhāndiravana is a different pastime place on the other side of the Yamunā.

Akshayavata 





Akṣhyavata también llamada Bhāndiravaṭa, y se sitúa dos millas al sur de Rāma-ghta. Śrī Kṛṣṇa, Balarāma y los sakhās jugaron a muchos juegos en las ramas de este árbol del banyan (vata). Tuvieron especialmente el placer de luchar aquí. Baladeva mató a demonio Pralambāsura en Akṣayavata. 

Una vez mientras reunían las vacas, Śrī Kṛṣṇa y Balarāma dejaron las vacas bebiendo y pastando en los verdes campos y se fueron a jugar con los sakhās. Se dividieron en dos grupos, uno dirigido por Kṛṣṇa y el otro dirigido por Baladeva. El juego que jugaron tenía una regla que cada muchacho en el grupo que perdía tenía que llevar al muchacho que le había derrotado sobre sus hombros desde Bhādhiravata a un lugar fijo que se encontraba a una cierta distancia y luego volverlo de nuevo a traer. 

El demonio Pralambāsura, enviado por Kamsa, adquirió la forma de un hermoso sakhā y se unió al equipo de Kṛṣṇa. Kṛṣṇa animó y le explicó las reglas al nuevo sakhā que iba a jugar y lo unió a su equipo. Śrī Kṛṣṇa fue derrotado por Śrīdāma y Balarāma derrotó al demonio Pralambāsura. Según las reglas, Śrīdāma se sentó en los hombros de Śrī Kṛṣṇa y Balarāma  en los del demonio Pralambāsura. Kṛṣṇa hizo su camino hacia el lugar designado, pero el travieso Pralambāsura corrió de un lugar a otro hasta que llegó a un lugar que era profundo y aislado. 

Después de una cierta hora él asumió su forma horrible del rākshasa. Kamsa le había dado instrucciones para matar a Baladeva antes de matar a Kṛṣṇa. Al principio, Baladeva Prabhu estaba en duda sobre que hacer pero, al decirle algo Kṛṣṇa, él le partió la cabeza al demonio con un golpe de su puño. Pralambāsura vomitó sangre y se derrumbó en tierra. Cuando llegaron allí Kṛṣṇa y los sakhās, abrazaron a Balarāma y elogiaron su fuerza y fortaleza de ánimo. 

El pasatiempo siguiente también ocurrió en Akshyavata. Un día, Śrī Rādhikā, las sakhis y Śrī Kṛṣṇa jugaban juntos aquí. Las sakhis dijeron a Kṛṣṇa, “Prāna-vallabha, usted se jacta siempre de que usted ha derrotado incluso a los luchadores expertos. Pero porqué es que Śrīdāma le derrotó?” 

Śrī Kṛṣṇa contestó, “eso es enteramente falso. Nadie en el universo entero pueden derrotarme. A Mi, Śrīdāma nunca me ha derrotado.” 

Rādhikā contestó, “si éso es así pues, las gopis estamos listas para luchar con Usted. Si usted nos derrota, entenderemos que Usted es el luchador Superior.” Las gopis se vistieron como luchadoras y Śrī Rādhikā luchó con Kṛṣṇa, fácilmente derrotándolo. Las sakhis aplaudieron y la elogiaron. 

Desde Śrī Kṛṣṇa y los sakhās luchó y realizó ejercicio físico aquí, la aldea cerca de Akshyavata se llama Kāsrata.  La palabra kāsrata significa el kasrat karnā , o “para realizar ejercicio físico”. También significa  kusti karnā, o “para luchar”. Cuando el antiguo árbol de banyan que había colocado aquí desapareció, un nuevo fue plantado en su lugar. 

Observe que el Bhāndiravata situado en Bhāndiravana es un diferente lugar del pasatiempo en el otro lado del Yamunā.
